slavna was a teenage make up artist and a stylist. she was working in the fashion and film industry from late 90s till mid 2000.

in 1997, after her studies at the london collage of fashion, she moved back to hong kong where she started her career as a fashion stylist and make up artist for shows and fashion magazines.

her interest of fusing the two led her to relocate to los angeles to study prosthetic and special effect make up at the famed joe blasco school. she continued working in both fields represented by 'visage' agency in hollywood designing films and music videos collaborating with celebrities like chlöe sevigny, alexis arquette, famke janssen, jorja fox, ryan hurst, dougray scott, daniela amavia, tory spelling and musicians: pink, aerosmith, a perfect circle, deadsy, orgy, travis to name a few.

in 2001, she was nominated for "best make up design in a music video" by the mvpa awards in los angeles for the music video 'fiction' by 'the orgy' directed by nick mathew. she also did make up for the debut 'immitation of christ' show at the santa monica and vermont station and the rick owens 2001 show at the les deux cafe. 

her styling and make up work has been featured in magazines like harper's bazaar (hk), flaunt (us), contents (us), cosmopolitan (hk), us weekly (us), marie claire (hk), soma (us), w (us), post magazine (hk)... she styled artists for events and shows like billboard music awards, mtv icons, latin grammy awards, american music awards, us platinum guild in the us and piaget and cartier's 150 year anniversary show in hong kong. not a lot of work survives from this period, but for some editorials and videos.
